The news that George Whelch has decided to turn professorial would surprise very few, as it was generally expected that he would do co. It would appear from the telegram above that he has already arranged a match with R. Arnst. The latter is at present somewhere in the Wairarapa district deerstalking. He intends journeying to Sydney shortly to train for his forthcoming match against Pearce. After that contest is decided he (Arnst) will, presumably, return to the Dominion and take on Whelch. The, letter's introduction into the professional n&ks will lend additional interest to the game in the Dominion. Whelch is a, brilliant sculler, and if he can stay well will give Arnst a big race, and the winner will prove a hard nut for Webb to' crack.
