Not a Blackberry!
GISBORNE, April 7.
In a case in which a local resident was charged with failing to exterminate blackberry, the information was dismissed, the Magistrate holding that the "Lawson" berry did not come within the designation contained in tbe ,Act, being a hybrid of the blackberry.
Captain Edwin wired as follows at 12.35 p.m.: — South-easterly moderate to strong winds, glass rise, tides low, probably very cold night.
