WELLINGTON v. HAWKE'S BAY.

NAPIER, April 2. The jjjterprovincial cricket match, Wellington 'v. Hawke's Bay, was commenced on the Recreation Ground this afternoon. The wicket was in splendid order. Hawke's Bay, batting first, scored 198 for 7 wicketd, Lusk being not out with a chanceless 84. The other principal scorers wore Hawke 51, Hindmarsh 24, Cato 10. NAPIER, April 3. The Weljington v. Hawke's Bay cricket match wad resumed in perfect weather. The wicket rolled out well, but favoured the batsmen. Lusk and White, the not outs, carried the total to 242 before the latter was caught by Patrick off a good hit after making 28. Lusk, meantime, passed the century, and the score at noon stood at 250 for eight wickets.

When at 111 Lusk lost his wicket to Cobcroft. Dalgleish, the last man, compiled 26, when he was run out. Ashcroft, not out, made 27, the inuings closing for 304.
