At a meeting of the United Wards Club, Mr Arthur Poley, barrister, read a paper on the Port of London Bill a3 affecting colonial trade. He strongly urged that one or more representatives of the self-govern- . ing colonies should have seats on the body which would be the new port authority. Mr Taverner, Agent-General for Victoria, declared that the colonies desired quicker marketing of their products, and hoped their goods would be landed nearer the heart of JLondon.
