In the House of Commons Mr. T. M. Kettle's resolution regarding the excessive -ost of administiation in Ireland, which was not pressed, elicted from mr T. Russell the statement that the question must be dealt with by the Irishmen on their own soil, and in their own way. Mr Birrell said personally he hoped that Irishmen would soon obtain Home Rule, amov the only solution would be a very liberal measure of Home Rule. In the House of Lords, Lord Crewe repuoiaied the Hon. Lioyd George's land theories.

The Land Values in Scotland Bill was read secondly unopposed, with the view ot introducing amendments in Committee.
