The visitors, in their anxiety to pile up a big score against the colts, made the play in the earlier part of the day painfully slow, but afterwards livened up. Hardstaff's batting lacked its usual criapness, and he gave easy chances at 17 and 18. Braund took four and a half hours to coihpile his score. His second century of the tour was marred by two difficult chances at 66 and 91. Fielder, suffering from a strain to the right arm, did not bat.
