AMUSEMENTS, MEETINGS ETC

A meeting of householders for the election of a Technical School Committee will he held in the Borough Council Chambers to-morrow evening at 8 o'clock. Citizens are finally* reminded of the meeting called by the Mayor for this evening at 8 o'clock, ' in the Borough Council Chambers, to discuss the advisability of inviting the New Zealand Fire Brigades' Association to hold its annual conference and demonstration for 1909 at Wanganui. Members of the Flying Club are remind cd of the meetiag to-night at the usual nlacc. Business is very important and all members are requested^to attend. There will be a baptismal service at the Baptist Church to-night, commencing at 7.30. The Rev. A. S. Wilson will deliver a special address.

Weather permitting the Garrison Band will give an open air concert at the Jubilee Home on Sunday next. The concert given last Sunday was up to the •isiial hiarh standard attained by the Band, and their next performance in the open will no doubt be greeted^by a large attenaance.
