ATHLETIC.
Very satisfactory nominations have bo** received by the Wanganui Amateur Athletic Club for the various events to oe decided at their forthcoming sports nt«>tinjr to be held on Thursday, the 21st met., n.:a a most successful gathering is assured, providing the weather is favourable. Though nominations were supposed to ckee , on Tuesday evening, the hon. secretary (Mr W. "S. Corby) will take any which reach him up till Saturday next, when the handicaps will be drawn up and published in Monday's papers. Th« suggestion has been made, and it appears to be one worthy of being adopted, that the Amateur Club should include a relay race on its programme for next week's meeting. It is understood that the Christ Church and T. Y.M.I. Clubs would both enter teams, and, of course, the Wanganui A.A. Club could also get a team or two together and a mdifc interesting race would be witnessed.
