ARBITRATION ACT AMENDMENT BILL.

(Per United I rpss Association). DUNBDIN, November 12. The Trades and Labour Council this evening passed the following resolution at a epecial meeting held to consider the Arbitration Act amendments: That the Minister of Labour be requested to amend the Arbitration and Conciliation Act to provide for a member and acting-member of the Arbitration Court being elected by Unions, instead of as at present being appointed on the recommendations of Unions, and that the result of the voting be published by the Council. In regard to the amended Bill, the General Council decided that it could not see its way to depart from the previous decision expressed in the recent manifesto, which was condemnatory of the measure.
