CORRESPONDENCE.
Ecclesiastical.
TO THE IDITOB. Sir, — A large number of members of the Anglican Church in Wanganui have expressed their disappointment that there is to be no confirmation service again this year. Last year, owing to the illness of the late Vicar, it was found necessary to abandon the service, but, to the lay mind, there is no excuse for not holding one this year. WheD it is remembered that every year in this district theje are between one and two hundred who attain the age when they should take the rites of confirmation, it will easily be understood what a wrong thin^ it ia to let these two years' candidates go, for every year that passes makes it harder for a candidate to present oneself. It is said that Waitotara is the nearest point to Wanganui where a service is to be held, f and, if this ie true, it is a scandal which should be remedied, and that immediately. — I am, etc., CHURCHMAN.
