TO TH* XDITOA. Sir, — A few months a^o the New Zealand Times 6ent Mr P. C. *'reeth, one of the cleverest journalists in the Dominion, on a special tour round the world. He has recently visited Paris, and his sub-joined remark's on the Paris trams ought to be of interest at the present juncture. They appeared in Tuesday's Times. — I am, etc., QUIDNUNC. Following is the quotation ref ered to : — "The great drawback to Paris is ifs tramway services. There are several, and nearly every one is defective and unsightly in the extreme. Ugly, archaic, dirty steam trams are still running through the streets and boulevards of tnis beautiful city. It is a monopolistic anomaly which 'no fellow can understand. "
