The Ururoa should follow in her wake to-night or to-mor-row morning. . , The Huia was the only arrival to-day. She will return to Wellington as soon as she i$ discharged. The Westport Coal Company's new steamier fisgdlos left Westport yesterday afternoon for Wanganui, laden with coal. She ihould arrive to-night. The vessel, as already .stated* reached Westport on Thursday last" from Newcastle-on-Tyne, v4s Colombo and Batsvia. She was detained at Colombo 17 daysfor repairs to her n^achinery sard to take in-* banker coal. At Batavia she was detained for about three months until ths arrival from Home of ths machinery to. replace the broken parts. She then experienced fine weather tUI reaching the Tasman Sea, where rough weather. was. met. Captain Lobb, who is in charge, informed a Westport Times reporter that the new collier proved herself to be a good sea boat; and as a staunch Tsssel, well suited in ev.erv respectto the Westport-Wanganui-New Plymouth coal trade. She was launched on* February 16 from the Wallend yard of Messrs Swan, Hunter and Wigham Bicharadon, Ltd. The vessel has been designed for carrying coal from Westport to New Plymouth and Waaganui, and to carry her cargo on an exceptionally light draught of water in order to negotiate the bar at the latter port. She is of the following dimensions: — I^Bfthover all, 178 ft; beam (extreme), 20ft lOin; and depth (moulded), lift 2in. The machinery consists of two sets of compound engines, driving twin screws, winch are expected to drive her at a spsed of about 11 knots. The Begulus was built under the supervision of Captain Lobb and Mr William Cairns, the owners' superintendents. Captain Lobb has with him a chief officer Mr Reid, with Mr Hutchinson as second. The engine depaitmsat is under the charge of Mr Brown, with Messrs Murdoch (of Westport) and Scott as second nd third enginesrs. The Stormbird will not return here for several days, owing to her being engaged in taking a load of wool from the Turakina, at Wellington, to Napier for sorting and drying.

The Oreti is due from Greymouth tomorrow morning. Mr Grono, mate of the Opawa, is at present ashore at Wellington, owing to injuries to a leg. The Kennedy is running between Puponga and Wellington at present. The Maori is due at Wellingto nto-mor-row from London, via Auckland, and the Arawa is due the same day from London, vis Capetown and Hobart. The Union Company's new salvage tug Terawhiti has been engaged to assist in raising the sunken coal hulk Blackwall at Lyttelton. The Terawhiti is able to lift over 900 tons of water per hour with her pttmp*,and the Union Company has additional pumping gear at its Wellington yards which will lift another 1200 tons of water an hour.
