Ryburu. ]y.e-,i-dent of the Wan^anui MinisU-rs' Awsocia tion, htating that" at the la^t mpeting oi the As-.oc iation it was decided that a deputation, cou-iisiing ot the Revs. Ward, A. Morton, and the pnvident, should wait on the Committee and ask leave to give ' half an hours Bible touching iv thu ' sohools each week. — It wan decided to meet the deputation at the next meeting. ACCOUNTS. — Accounts amounting to Jib 10s were passed for payment. SCHOOL REPORTS.— The reports of the schools were read. They contained the following: — District High School. — Mr Aitkcn reported that the highest attendance during the past quarter had been 1 .97, out of a roll number of 442. Last week the total attendance was 38H out of 4.'59 «.u the roll, while yesterday there were 375 present. Measles were still accountable tor the low attendance. Mr Aitken stated that Mr \V. Southwell had offered to teach niano music at the school, on the linen that Miss McFadyen taught the violin, and a.skcd for Hie committee's view of the matter. Mr Aitken drew the comittee's attention to a tew wantH in the way of cupboards, liat pegs, inkwells, coal-buckets, tire-shovels, tongs, etc. — The matter of piano tuition was left in the hands of the chairman, with power to act, provided the inatrnc- ! ion was not in school hours. Queen's Park School. — Mr Payne, in his monthly report ot this school, btated that Miss McLaughliu and Miss McGonagle comenced their duties on the 3rd in&t. U the main school the foil had averaged «'i(>7 and the attendance 575. At the Gonvillc -.ide school the roll had averaged 38 and the attendance 31. Measles accounted for a *mall fall in the attendance at the main .school. A serioun outbreak had occurred in Standard 11. during the past week, and every precaution had been taken to pre«°nt a epread of the disease by sending away all contacts, and having the school thoroughly disinfected. The annual concert takes place on the 21nt hist., and a «ood progiamme was lH?in«j prepared by the staff and pupils. St. John's School.— Miss O'Brien reported that this school hud been closed trorti May 9th till June 4th, owing to the outbreak of measles. At the re-opening 130 children were pretent, and yesterday the attendance was 143, out ol :i roll numbei of 218. It would probably be some week? before the attendance reached its usual numbers. During the time the school was closed the t iv achei6 attended at the QueenV Park School and observed the infant methods there, a profitable time being spent.
