The first *\itnees for the Crown produced a copy of the certificate of accused's former marriage in 1895 to which Mr Innes, counsel for the defence, objected, pointing out that the accused. Daly, was referred to as "Richard" aud "Robert" Daly in the same certificate. His Honor, after scrutinising the certificate, remarked that it was a strange blunder and commented upon the gross caielefienesa of some official which led to a breakdown in the prosecution.
