CHARITABLE AID DISTRIBUTION.

Per United Press Association.) DUNEBIN, April 18. At a meeting of the Charitable Aid Board to-day there was a long discussion on the distribution of charity funds, it being argued by some that the present district, embracing a great portion of Otago, is much too large to allow fair treatment to be meted out to the country contributors as compared with the city. The distribution here is under the control of two bodies — the Charitable Aid Board and Benevolent Trustees — immediate distribution being made by the latter. Dr. Bachelor thought it was largely in consequence of that that dissatisfaction had arisen. He thought the Board should meet the Trustees and come to some understanding with them. This was agreed to. and a conference of the two bodies will be held in, about a fortnight.
