GAZETTE ANNOUNCEMENTS.
(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 21. To-night's Gazette announces that the Imperial Government has approved the various Acts passed by the New Zealand Parliament last session, and submitted for Royal sanction. The importation of fruit and trees affected with pear scab is prohibited. A regulation has also been brought in force prohibiting the importation of pear, apple, or quince trees from North America, unless accompanied by a certificate that the trees come from a district free from pear blight. The close season for seals in New Zealand is extended for another year. Mr John Roberts has been appointed acting consular agent for Italy at Dunedin. The appointment of Mr L. R. Wilson as vice-consul for Norway at Dunedin has been officially recognised. Mr J. H. Adams has been appointed assistant geologist to the Mines Department.
