Following is the record of the Band since they first commenced contest work : — 1898.— Napier : Second in Test Selection* and first in Marching Competition. 1899. — Palmerston North: Second in Test Selection and second in Marching Competion. 1900.— Wellington : Second in Test Selection and second in Marching Competition. 1901. — Wanganui: First in Test Selection, first in Marching Competition, and won the Besson Shield. 1902. — New Plymouth :i- Second in test selection, first in Marching Competition, and won the Besson Shield. 1903.— Masterton :• Second in Test Selection and first in Marching Competition. 1904. — Timaru: First in Test Selection and first in Marching Competition. The Band did not compete at the contest held in Palmerston North. 1905.— Auckland": First' in. Test Selection, first in Marching Competition, and won the Besson Shield. 1906.— Hawera : First in Test Selection, first in Marching Competition, and won the Besson Shield. 1907.— Christchurc h: First in Test Selections. Marching Contest and Besaon Shield not yet decided.
