The following cable has been received by Mr. Orton Stevens, manager of the New Zealand branch of the National Mutual Life: — The 37th annual meeting of the Association was held to-day. The new business for the year amounted to ,£2,850.789, an increase -of £'235,000 over last year's business. Tlfe annual income now amounts to £823,^88, and the interest earned is 4| per cent. The total lunds now stand at £078,000, being an increase on last year 0f. ,£283,000. MELBOURNE; December 20.
