The St. Mary's Dramatic Club will make their long-promised appearance in the Opera House in the T. Taylor drama, "The Ticket of Leave Man," on December 3rd and 6th respectively. The richness of dressing and scenic effects will be a special feature, together with the incidental songs and melodies. The piece throughout is full of fine scenes and situations, relieved by glorious comedy, and the climax of all is very satisfactory, showing the downfall of the black-hearted villain after a series of encounters with the detective, ending up with a hair-raising scuffle in a cemetery. Altogether, the production promises to be a most attractive one. Whenever and wherever this piece has been staged it has always drawn crowded houses. The club intend producing the piece with all scenic and mechanical effects, and everything has been done to make a success of the play. Already a large number of seats have been booked at H. I. Jones and Sons, where the box plan is now open. Both performances ahold draw record houses.

The Caledonian Society held a. social in the Fire Brigade Hall last evening in honour of St. Andrew's Day. A number of songs, dances, and gramaphone selections were given, after which supper, provided by Mr T. Hodron. was partaken of. The function passed off very enjoyably.
