Received October 22, 11.6 a.m. MELBOURNE, October 22. Lady Wallace galloped five furlongs in 1.6. Betting. — Melbourne Cup: £700 to £200 was taken about Poseidon, and he is now at 3to 1. Solution is quoted at 4 to 1, Noreen at 10 to 1, Boor an 14 to Id, Lady Wallace and Proceed 15 to 1, Blue Spec 16 to 1, Dividend, Demas and Little Toy 20 to 1. For the Derby the betting is 3 to 1 oil Poseidon, 5 to 1 against Booran, 7 to 1 lolaire, and 10 to 1 Melodrama, Ebullition, and Antonius. It is not expected that Collarit will start again during the spring.
