PATEA.

(From our own correspondent.) PATEA, October 19. The Ion" spell of dry weather has at last broken, and some very welcome ram has fallen. Everyone was growling about empty tanks and withered vegetables, but now we are all smiling once again. Since the Druids' Lodge bought the Harmonic Hall great repairs, alterations, and additions have been made ; the lightin «■ arrangements have been re-organised with great effect, and the Hall is now more worthy of the name than it has ever been before. Professor Czar and his clever company appear at the Harmonic Hall to-morrow evening. The newspapers speak very highly of this company, and there is every probability that a tamper house will greet the performer. Mr Janisch, of the Land and Income Tax Department, paid an official visit to Patea yesterday.
