24th Annual Conference. The Conference met at 9 o'clock this morning after an half-hour of prayer. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. Rev. C. Boyall wai elected financial secretary. The secretary reported that the Rev E. G. Gauge would be spending seven weeks in the colony, and would be holding services and lectures. The itinerary as arlanged by the Union Committee was agreed to. A telegram was received from the Eev. J. C. Martin acknowledging his election as President and thanking the Union for the honour done. The Rev. A. North was elected convener of the Uoard of Advice. It was decided to consult the churchee as to the advisability of holding special evangelistic services during the winter months. The estimated receipts were as follows: — Special collections from churches, £75; subscriptions, Jt'694; less debit balance, £'49; less 10 per cent (for probable deficiency) 70; Baptist, <£10; total, £660. The committee's proposed expenditure was as follows: — Young People's Conimit-t-'e, £lo; students' committee, £i 0; Feilding, <£60; Whanparei, £io ; Waihi, £'15; -Mount Roskill, £65; Epsom, £34; Ashburton, J>2o; Kaikorai, £30; New Plymouth, £10; Riccarton, <£34; Maori Hill, J210; Owaka, ,£10; evangelist, .£25; sundries, £120; total, £689.— Adopted. Decided to publish advertisements in the official hand-book. Left to executive to appoint committee to meet in the Inter-denomination Conference. The following resolution moved by Rev. A. Dewdney was unanimously agreed to: "That this Assembly expresses its pleasure at the fact that the International Exhibition will be free from liquor bars, and its satisfaction that the Government declined to interfere with the decision of the elective committee by legislation on the question." A copy of this resolution is to be forwarded to the Premier. The conference adjourned until thia evening. __^_^______
