AMUSEMENTS MEETINGS, ETC

The monthly meeting of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce will be held at the office, Wicksteed Place, on Friday, 19th inst., at 3.30 p.m. A fine assortment of pretty and useful articles has just come to hand for the Christ Church Bazaar. The committee have spared no money to make the Bazaar a success, and amongst the goods just landed may be mentioned many rare and beautiful articles from Japan, China, Holland and India. These articles are both useful and ornamental, and no home should be without them. Also a large quantity of goods from the South Sea Islands, including baskets and necklaces, etc., made by the natives, have been received by the committee. A large and well-selected consignment of Liberty articles have been received during the last week, and this is probably the best collection in the colony. The committees of the other stalls have also been working hard, and have a splendid show for their trouble. The entertainment and side shows committees have been working hard and a splendid programme will be put on every night, a complete change being made every night, and there will be more side shows than ever before shown in Wanganui. Remember the dates — November 13, 14, 15, 16, and keep them clear and thereby avoid being disappointed by missing the Christ Church Monster Bazaar.
