".vi.en the Australian-New Zealand Retiyiocity Treaty was entered u[,on as a liclninnary agreement in August last, the collection ot certain duties under tiie agreement was authorised by resolution of the House of Representatives, pending the adoption or rejection of the treaty. Yesterday the Premier brought down the Customs Duties Adjustment Bill, which ratifies the resolution of the House, an<l gives the necessary authority for refunding the excess duties collected under the resolution up to the 4th October, when the late of the treaty was decided.
