Salvation Army SELF DENIAL ANNUAL APPEAL FROM OCTOBER 13th to 19th. Dear Reader, — Once more the Salvation Army's Week of Prayer and Self-denial has come round, and once more we wish to make to you the appeal that has always been heartily responded to in the past. Ac you may be aware, the Salvation Army has no endowments from which to derive funds for its work; it has to depend solely upon voluntary contributions. Once a yenr we devoto a special week to the raising of funds for our social work, and that we term self-denial week. Explanation of the meaning is unnecessary. The rescue department is the principal feature of that work, and to us the poor and the noedy, the unfortunate and the sick, come for assistance. This assiatanee we can give if we have th« funds, and we therefore make this appeal. Will you help? If ho, kindly enter your name and gift below, and send it to ADJUTANT G.
