Tho Peninsular and Oriental company's steamer ' Delhi landed the London mails at Hong Kong in 24J days, easily beating the Vancouver line, although the steamer Empress of China, which inaugurated the new eastern mail service via Canada, reachYokohama a couple of days in'advance of the schedule time.
