Once in the straight the latter closed on Sammy, and after a most exciting finish just got home by a neck, with South Star a good third and Hikairo fourth. Haerekimoa put in a fast run at the bend, but came a cropper at the last fenre-, otherwise he might have troubled the winner. The jumping throughout was exceedingly firood.
