THE CHURCHES.

The subject advertised by the Christadelphiane. for to-morrow evening is one of an unsectarian order, and it should interest all, whether churchgoers or not. It is entitled "The Authenticity of the Scriptures Demonstrated." The lecture commences at 7 o'clock.

The new Wesleyan Church hall at Kaitoke will bo opened on Sunday afternoon next at 2.30 by the minister of the circuit, the Rev. J. G. Chapman. The evening service, at 7 o'clock, will bo conducted by Mr Varney. "Is Christ to return to the earth, and, if so, what is His mission ; or is it a delusion as affirmed by theologians?" A lecture on the above subject will be delivered at the Druid's Hall, Bell Street, at 7 o'clock to-morrow evening, when a cordial welcome will be extended to all.

The Rev. A. Gamble, representing the C.M.A., will preach at Christ Church on Sunday morning, and will give a lecture iv the schoolroom on Monday evening at 8 o'-clock, on "Missions."

The services at Dublin Street Primitivo Methodist Church to-morrow will be conducted as follows: Morning, Rev. E. Drake; subject, "The Refuge of the Soul." Evening, Mr R. B. Horsley. The Rev. £. Drake will conduct the evening service at Sedgebrook, taking as his subject "A Diamond from a City Slum." Mr Ferguson, evangelist, has been holding meetings during the week in the Gospel Hall, Bell Street, speaking upon "the Dealings of God with Man," illustrating his remarks by a large diagram. The meetings have been fairly well attended, and interest shown. Mr Ferguson hopes to continue the subject on Sunday evening at 7. The meetings at the Salvation Army will be conducted by Adjutant Dickens all day to-morrow. At 2.30 the funeral service to the late Sister Downer will take place, also a memorial service at night, when a few of her old comrades will sing and speak. A large crowd is expected to be present.

The Rev. Arthur Dewdney will preach to-morrow morning and evening at the Baptist Church. The morning subject will be, "The Impulse to Christian Service," and the evening "God Interpreted."
