AMUSEMENTS, MEETINGS ETC

"ROMANCE AND REALITY AT SEA."

Judging from the synopsis of Mr Frank T. Bullen's lecture, which appears in another column-, "Komance co-existent with Reality," instead of being in opposition, will be the key-note of the lecture. This view Mr liullen applies to matter connected with the merchant ser r vice, and in the exposition of if deals with the ways of shipa and men who control them as only one who has filled almost every conceivable position on board ship for a large portion of his life can do. The subject selected for Mr Bullen's lecture in the Opera House to-morrow evening is the most popular of his series. The Argus, referring to this lecture in Melbourne, says: — "The wonder and power of Mr Bullen's vivid' narrative laid hold of an overflowing audience," and in Sydney the Herald writes: — "At times the gathering was carried away as by a mighty wave with Mr Bullen's rhetorical touches." A number of original limelight views illustrate the lecture. A large number of seats have already been serured at Messrs H. I. Jones and Sons. Ladies are reminded that second neat tickets may also be procured during the day.
