A cablegram has been received from Nuremberg, Germany, applying for 300 .square feet of space in a pron^ncnt part of the Exhibition for the purwse of exhibiting leather and metal ware, amber and jewellery. A letter has been received from Mr Richard! Henry from Resolution Island relative to forwarding supplies of live birds to the Exhibition. Mr Henry indicates that he will be able to forward certain ground birds but he anticipates a difficulty in procuring and keeping in captivity certain other birds.

A novel manner of advertising the Christchurch Exhibition is in operation at the Melbourne offices of the Executive Commissioners. An electric light sign is being displayed every night for the purpose of drawing the attention of Melbourne people to the New Zealand' laternational Exhibition and the date on which it takes place.

The date fixed for the reception of pictures in the Art Gallery is the 13th September- next. This will give the committee every opportunity to have the work thoroughly well done before the opening date, Ist November. Notices to this effect have been sent to the Art Societies of Canterbury, Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Advice has been received from the Acting Secretary of the General Post Office, Wellington, to the effect that the special issue of stamps commemorative of the Exhibition is well under way. A plate for the Id stamp has already been prepared and proofs struck off which are satisfactory. The preparation of the stamps of other denominations is well under way and the Acting Secretary advises the Exhibition authorities that the whole issue will be ready not later than the end of September.
