PING-PONG.

Last evening marked the revival of these interesting games in Wanganui. It is some years since a piug-peng match was played here, and the interest in the game has been, j.rjctically dormant for son,o time. A team of ton players from tho T.Y.M.I. visited the Christ Church Club rooms last evening to try conclusions with the latter's team. The C.C. Club have a fine room for pingpong, excellent light, and good tables, and the contest which took place was of a most interesting character, in many of the games the players weie even all the way, and tho result of each game was loudly applauded. With seven games played the T. Y.M.I. "s wero. two points to the good, the eighth and ninth games were exactly even, Iho visitors winning by two on lh# eighth game, and losing by two on the ninth, but in the final match the T.Y.M.I. represent a-tivo was beaten by 17 points, thus giving the match to the C.C. Club by 15 points. During the progress of the ping-pong match the T.Y.M.I. also played the C.C.C. a quoits match. Great interest was also taken in this, and the scoring was very^ good.
