CHRISTCHURCII, June 20.
Yesterday Mr Bishop, S.M., heard several charges against local tradesmen for Rolling indecent postcards. In the case 3 iv which defendants were found guilty, he reserved his sentence till Tuesday next.
The directors of the Canterbury Frozen Meat and Dairy Produce Export Company, Ltd., have declared an interim dividend at the rate of 6 per cent per annum on preference shares, and 8 per cent per annum on ordinary shares for the half-year ending May 31.
The Christcliurch Drainage Board has received tenders for debentures representing a total of .£57,300, ranging from par to £2 11s premium.
A battue of the Rakaia Gun Club on Rakaia Island resulted in 101 hares being killed. The Kyle and Doric Gun Club, on the Craig Estate, got a bag of 280 hares for 16 guns.
