AMUSEMENTS MEETINGS, ETC
HYPNOTISM EXTRAORDINARY.
A BLIND-FOLD DRIVE.
A LIVING BURIAL.
Wanganui people are about to have an opportunity to investigate some hypnotic demonstrations. Attached to Bostock and Wombwell's Circu6 are Professor Bonner and his subject, Mr S. C. Williams. On Friday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, a committee of citizens will attend at the circus to supervise the carrying out of tho first test. Some members of the committee will drive away in a locally hired drag, and choosing their own route, will select some store or shop and therein hide any article previously agreed on. They will then drive back, following the route originally taken. On their return to the circus (where in the meantime the other members of the committee have been closely watching the professor and his subject 1 )", Professor Bonner will hypnotise Mr Williams and blindfold him. Mr Williams will then be hoisted to the box seat, and in that condition will drive the whole of the committee along the exact route followed on the first occasion, and trace and discover the article. This wonderful performance has caused an immense sensation throughout New Zealand, large crowds lining the streets to witness the demonstration. On Friday evening in the circus in full view of the audience the professor will again hypnotise Mr Williams. Mr Williams will then be carried out to a side tent and buried in a large box six feet beneath the surface of the ground. He will remain in this condition until next Tuesday evening, when he will be awakened in the circus. Several doctors and prominent public men and representatives of the press will form the committee to watch the whole of the proceedings. During the sleep Mr Williams can be inspected at any hour of the night or day through an inspection tube provided for the purpose.
