School Teachers' Appointments
TO THB EDITOR.
Sir,— ln last night's "Herald" I noticed a letter written by Mr Lacey, of Mangamahu, re school appointments, staling, amongst other things, "that when Mr Spddon at Foxton complained of EducaiiOii Boards not sending six names to the School Committees to select he (Mr Scfldon) specially mentioned the Mangamahu case. Now, sir, Mr Pirani was not at the opening of the Foxton school when Mr Seddon made the speech referred to, and therefore cannot be in a position to retutc tnis
statement, but as one who was present aufl stood within a few feet of "King !)i;k" during the whol? of his long-winded oraiion, I wish to correct Mr Lacc-y'sstatc-.ne.it. The ATtinganiahu case waa not menlio.cl, nor was anything said in the s;jocii whi.'h would Kaa the public pro-.-"nt to sii-pcct what school was referred to in the complaint. If the above statement made by Mr Lacey is a sample of the correctness of the rest of tho statc•ii.oi'i i contained in his long effusion abusi'i«: Air Pirani, then I feel sure the public v il! c.s-ily judge who is to bo believed — Mr Lavey or Mr Pirani. — I am etc., SETTLER.
