WANGANUI CALEDONIAN SOCIETY

At a committee meeting held last Friday evening the following officials were appointed for, the annual gathering on the 22nd January: — Handicapper, Mr Ulic Shannon; Marshall, Mr E." G. McNivon ; Starter, Mr J. G. McNaught; Marksman. Mr C. Brodie; Judges, Piping and Dancin<y, Messrs E. Currie, P. McDonald, J. McPherson, and D. Ross; Judges, running and cycling, J. T. Muir, Dr Hathcrly, J. E. Stewart, J. G. Swan, and A. Weskes: Judges, field events, Messrs E. Smith, J. Dempspy, A. Simpson, D. S. Glasgow, and T. M. Copeland; Timekeepers, Messrs W. E. Tuck, W. Nettleship, and "W. M. Thomson ; 'Press Steward, -Mr P. Lewis ; Superviser of Dancing and Piping, Mr D. Stewart; Besult Board, Messrs P. Murray, M. Hogan, and T. Drummond; Competitors' Stewards, Messrs C. Tilley, G. Brown, and A. Davies. The appointment of stewards for tho chidron's sports was left in the hands oi Mr E. G. McNiven. It was decided that in the pipe music for marches each piper should march 50 yards on the grass and return — 100 yards altogether. Hitherto tho marching has been on the dancing board. The next committee meeting will be held on Friday, December 15th.
