One enthusiastic old lady "shook the Premier warmly by the hand, exclaiming: "You are a dear old darling." Ayithout disclosing the lady's name, the Premier subsequently referred to the com- ; pliment at the Lawrence social, and it \ was so well received that it seemed as if •the ladies present, and the men, too. , concurred in the old lady's exclamation. The, Premier left Milton at noon and is now at Waihola, where he will spcud the afternoon,', proceeding to Stirling by px- ' press. He had a splendid reception at : Waihola. ■
