A Blue Book dealing with the correspondence and organisation of the Colonial Conference shows that Australia, Cape Colony, and Natal are favourable to the Hon. Lyttelton's suggestion. New Zealand has not replied, owing- to tlie election. In deferonco to Canada's vkuvs the- subject was doforrod until the next conference, owing to the inability of the Australasian Premiers to attend till lato in the spring of 1906. Mr Lyttelton inquires as to the advisability of a postponement till 1907. Canada, implies that the Imperial Council may possibly be regarded as an encroachment on autonomous powers, and suggests tho title "Imperial Conference.'" The Times says that Sir Wilfrid Laurier's attitude is duo to dependence upon tho French-Canadians.
