Second horse to receive 20 soys, and third horse 10 soys from the stake. Over 6 nights of hurdles 3ft 6in high. Open to horses that have never won a iurdle race air time of starting. Nomination 1 soy, acceptance 30s. One and a half miles. To start at 12 noon. 2. Flying Hack Handicap, of 100 soys. Second horse to receive 15 soys and the third horse 10 soys from the stake. Nomination 1 soy; acceptance 2 soys. Six furlongs. To start at 12.45 p.m. 3. Ashhurst Guineas, of 100 guineas. Second horse to receive 20 guineas, and third horse 10 guineas from the stake. For present three-year-olds that are not nominated for other than hack races at time of entry and have not won a race of over 40 soys at time of starting; hack and hunter races excepted. Manawatu Gorge Hack Handicap, of 100 soys. Second horse to receive 15 eovs, and third horse 10 soys from the stake.' Nomination 1 soy. acceptance 2 soys. Seven furlongs. To start at 4 p.m. 7. Pohangina Handicap (Open), of 200 soys. Second horse to receive 30 sovb and third horse 15 soys from the stake. Nomination 1 soy, acceptance 3 sovb. Six furlongs. To start at 4.45 p.m. 8. Maiden Hack Scurry, of 100 soys. Second horse to receive 15 soys and third, horse 10 soys from the stake. For three-year-olds and upwards that have never won a race at time of starting, and have never started in other than hack or hunter races. Weight 9st. Entrance £2 10s. Five furlongs. To start at 5.30 p.m. PENALTIES. The winner of any flat race after publication of weights to carry a penalty of 101 b, and of every additional race a further penalty of 51b, or if he think fit the handic'apper may re-handicap the winner of -any race or races of the collective value of JJISO or over after the declaration of weights. DEFINITION OF A HACK.— Hack means a horse that has not, at time of nomination, won a race of the value of 80 soys or over, or races of the collective value of 200 soys. Nominations will be received on or before WEDNESDAY, January 24th, 1906, for the Ashhurst Hack Guineas, of 100 guineas; second horse to receive 20 guineas and tlie third liora© 10 guineas from tlio stake.
