Association.— Telegraph .—Copyright Beceived November 30, 9.43 a.m. MELBOURNE', November 30., At the La Bella inquiry Captain Meylins, in hi 9 evidence, said that he was standing in clo3e to signal for the pilot. He was intending to stand off again when a big sea struck and brought the ship's head . round, and carried her into the breakers. _ The second mate, Robertson, deposed that he was called on deck just before the vessel stmck. The La Bella was going free, an ddid not broach while he was on deck. Three seamen gave evidence that the vessel was not struck by a heavy sea, and did not broach. Pilot Roe said that if a signal had been made for a pilot he would have gone out. He could have got to the La Bella before 6he struck. The inquiry was adjourned.
