Recognition of Mrs Hoey's Services.
TO THE EDITOK.
Sir, — I notice in your issue of 'the 24th instant that TStrd Hoey is retiring from the position of head mistress of the" Infant School, which' she has filled so capably for f*ie past 27 years. By her' retirement' tlie Wahganui Education Board .will lose a valued servant, who' will be hard .tcS replice. as x believe aha has endeared herself to both children and parents by her able "and sympathetic conduct of the .school which she has so long controlled. As I feel sure that parents, and many of the children who were formerly under her chafge would like to .show in some tangible way their appreciation of her services.^ might I suggest that you take charge of a list towards makJag Mrs Ho«»y a presentation on her retirement. I enftlQspT r my "mite* towards this object, and also a- contribution to the Children's Prize' Fund. — I am, etc.. C. L. DTJIGAN. fWe will lie pleased to carry 1 out our correspondent's suggestion. As a matter of fagt' we had practically decided to move in. tup direction suggested by Mr Duigan before his letter came to hand.-r-Ed. w.fy "
