FIRES.

NELSON, November 1. A fire this morning destroyed tho cottage of Mr Bashford, near the waterworks reservoir. The inmates had a narrow escape, just getting down before the stairs ignited. Nothing wa9 saved. The furniture was uninsured, but the building was insured in* the Norwich Union for .£'loo.
