Day, c Trumper, b McLeod 16 Mason, b Noble .- 38 A; Day, not out 0 Sundries' 24 Four wickets for 154 The attendance during the afternoon was 7000. The seventh wicket in the first innings fell at 74. Huish played good cricket. The innings altogether lasted under two hour.s. In the second essay Dillon and Hearne put on 48 for the first wicket in half an hour. Mason played a dashing innings, and hit three fourers off' one over of Cotter's. Fifty-four runs were added in 35 minutes while he and Hearne were partners. The score was 154 for four wickets when the stumps were drawn. Cotter has taken 100 wickets during -the tour.

Received August 27, 4.43 p.m. LONDON, August 26. The weather was threatening and dull and the attendance small. Hearne and A. Day carried the score to 187, when Hearno played Cotter on after a good innings, which included six fourers. Humphreys was the only other batsman to make anything like" a stand, and the innings closed for 252, the colonials winning by an innings and 35 runs.
