Still They Come!
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — Only another candidate; that makes six. Who will be the seventh? They say there's - luck in odd numbers, poor Wanganui, what has it done' to deserve this? The latest in, the field is Mr W, G. Bassett, who, it is given out, will support measures for the benefit' of ' all classes, but is against the present administration. That's decisive, enough for me. It means he's" against the GpveTnment, and will vote just exactly opposite to what our present member does. Does Liberal Wanganui want that? Do we want to go back to the old stagnation days? Not much! Then let the people rally round the Liberal flag by supporting the present member, who has stuck to his colours, his principles, and bis constituents right throughout his political career. Wanganui electors haye had to decide points like this multiplicity of candidates before, and they have seen through it all right, so I for one can well leave it to the electors. — I am, etc.,
LIBERAL.
