(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 23. The Council met at 2.30. PUBLIC WORKS AMENDMENT I3ILL. The Public Works Amendment Bill received from the other Chamber was committed after considerable discussion. Clauses 3 and 4. dealing with unformed streets and power to forbid heavy traffic, wore struck out and the Bill reported as amended. ~ . . MAREIAGES VALIDATION BILL. The Hon. Carncross moved the second reading of the Marriages Validation Bill, validating marriages Avith a deceased wife's niece or deceased 'husband's nephew. Agreed to without discussion. MOTOR REGISTRATION BILL. The Motor Registration Bill was recommitted and reported with machinery amendments. The Council rose at 4.50 p.m.
