Sir, — Lite "Fair Play," 1 call only say that it is astonishing how the residents of this town have put up with the high price of meat for ao long 1 . I think the sooner we start a Co-operative Meat Company the bettor for us. Now, sir, the price of cattle at the present time ie lower .than has been Trnown for many years, while the retail price of beof is higher that I ever recollect in New Zealand. Fancy paying about twice as much forjneat^grown at our back door as they pay : for jft/. itt\the. Old. .Country. Why, in. Hawera beef is 2d per pound less than we pay for it here, so I think it is hijjh time people woke up to the fact that they are being robbed pretty considerably.— l am, etc., FATHER.
