The Birmingham Chamber of Commerce gave a luncheon to the visiting Canadian manufacturers, at which Mr Joseph Chamberlain, in a stirring speech in favour of a self -sustained Empire, said : "We are all sister States. The -Motherland is first amongst us; the others are equal."
