More definite information concerning tlie damage done to dredges goes' to show that the Buller Junction dredge is stranded on a . beach near Cromwell paddock. She appears to have sustained little damage" so far as is at present known, but trill require a good flood to place her Again in. the river, or siva -will have to tie launched. The Welcome is sunk in a fairly good position, but the extent oi' the damage is not yet available. The Fern Flat dredge appears tn be hopelessly smashed., The Premier, Mokoia, Fedderson's, Rocklands, and old Diggings arc understood to be intact. The road is badly cut away in places, particularly near Berlins, and even on foot is passable only with much difficulty. -Telephone communication with Karamea iB etill interrupted.
