WELLINGTON, June 27. - Tho, Third Session of the Fifteenth Parliament was opened by the Governor this afternoon. The attendance of tho public dn the vicinity of Parliament Buildings was the laTgest that lui-s ,been seen in recent years, and the military portion of the ceremonial was on a much larger scale, on account of the big muster of blue jackets from H.M.S. Challenger and the local school cadets. The scene on the lawn in front of the building, where the militaa'y contingents were drawn tip, was a very picturesque one. Ail the available space in the Legislative Council Chamber was fiilcd to overflowing. As, His Excellency loft the Government Houso for Parliament Buildings, escorted by n troop of the Heretaunga Mounted Rifles, tho T>. Battery fired a salute from the Esplanade, and .the Garrison Band played the National Anthem 'as his Excellency arrived at Parliament Buildings. The vice-re-gal party included, hesidps his Excellency, Lady Plunket, Miss Pluuket, Captain Braithwaite, A.D.C., Captain-Big-ham, aiid Mr Waterfield, Private Secretaries. ♦
