Aramoho residents are notified that copies of the Wanganui "Herald" may be obtained each evening at Mr Bridges' tobacconist shop.

By means of an illustration, Mr J. 'J. Littlejohn directs special attention to his dressmaking department. Tho costumes pictured are described, and may be made up exactly as represented.

To-morrow, at noon, Messrs Willi.ims and Harper will sell by auction- at their mart, horses, pigs, vehicles, a good milking cow. At 2 p.m. (by order of the bailiff) piano and n quantity of furniture; and a quantity of furniture on account of other vendors. For full particulars see advertisement.

Those interested in tree planting or other horticultural pursuits, ought to take tho hint given by Messrs Benefield and Sons in our advertising columns and procure a copy of -their new catalogue (post free to any address), which is replete with descriptions of the moat up-to-data varieties of nursery stock, for which this firm hae so long held a high reputation.

The attention of working men is directed to come special lines of strong winter clothing which Messrs George and Kersley are now offering. The firm are clearing a good strong line of trousers — colonial manufacture — at 4s 6d per pair, and a better line at 6s 6d per pair. One of the most artistic and attractive window displays ever made in Wanganui is that now showing at the Economic. Th« whole of the largest window is given up entirely to evening goods, which present a most interesting and pretty picture, and goes to show that the art of window dreeing has reached a high standard of ex.cellence in Wanganui. The assistant responsible for the display deserves every credit, and Messrs George and Kersley are to be congratulated on the results attained.
