The Gertie crossed the bar yesterday and when steaming towards the Caatlecliff wharf she went aground on the sand bank off the wharf. She will need to be lightered considerably before she will float off as the tides are now falling. The Huia arrived from Puponga yesterday at noon with a cargo of coal. She will sail for Wellington to-night. The Waverley arrived yesterday from Westport with coal. She 6ailed at midday to-day for Westport. The Stormbird is expected here again about Thursday from usual port. It ib expected that the Storm, will be here again about Saturday from Southern ports. The Northern Company's steamer Kia Ora will run a trip here on the 12th of next month 'from Onehunga. via Opunake, in place of tho Miiritai. The -Rimu came out of the Port Chalmers dock on Saturday morning, after an overhaul, and steamed up to Dunedin, where she loaded for Invercargill. The v«sel will load for Wanganui at the Bluff on Friday, Dunedin on Saturday, and Timaruon Monday, and is due here on Tuesday. The New Zealand Shipping Coy's «teamer Paparoa^ arrived at Auckland on Sunday from London via Capetown and Hobart. The Gothic is due at Wellington tomorrow from London . via Capetown and Hobart. The Tyser steamer Maere, from London, via Melbourne and Sydney, arrived at Auckland yesterday. The same Coy's " steamer Hawkes Bay sailed from New York last Friday for New Zealand port* via Australia. The ship Hornby Castle, wool-laden, arrived at London last Friday, from Wellington, after a' pasage of 99 days. The barque Westland sailed from Wellington on Sunday last for London, with 5542 bales of wool. The N.Z. Shipping . Coy's steamer Kaikoura sailed from London for Wellington and Lyttelton, via Capetown and Hobart, on Friday last. The Norwegian barque Closoburn sailed from Auckland for New York on Thursday last, loaded with kauri gum and flax. On Saturday last the New Zealand Government's now dredge Murihiku arrived at Fremantte from England, en route to Dunedin.
